FanDuel dead heat calculator

A dead heat payout reduces the stake eligible to win according to the number of tied competitors and remaining winning places. Multiply the original stake by places divided by tied competitors, then multiply by decimal odds. Subtract the full original stake for net profit; reducing only the winnings gives the wrong result.

Formula and worked example

Return = stake × remaining places ÷ tied competitors × decimal odds.

A $10 bet at +200 in a two-way tie for one winning place returns $15: a reduced $5 stake at decimal 3.0, for $5 net profit.
